Choosing a wedding date
|
Choosing a wedding date There are a lot of
things to factor in when choosing a wedding date. Many people have a favorite
season or month and want to celebrate their wedding and future
wedding
anniversaries during that time. Some people want to have wedding photos
with a spring or autumn background. Other things you should consider when
choosing a wedding date are the following: Are there any dates you need to avoid (your younger sisters graduation, another wedding you are invited to, annual vacations, pregnant maid of honor, military commitment, or religious observation)? The peak wedding season is April-October. During these months it will be harder to book venues, florists, caterers, wedding favors, etc. It may be cheaper (and easier) to book an off-season wedding. Holiday weekends allow out of town guests a little extra time to travel since many guests will have vacation days from work, but planning a wedding during a holiday weekend also has its drawbacks. You will have a greater challenge in finding hotel rooms and flights will be more expensive. There will also be increased traffic on the roads and in the airports.
