Why do newlyweds kiss at the end of the
wedding ceremony? Couples kiss at the end of a wedding ceremony to complete their marriage. Years ago, people made betrothal agreements. After the agreement was made, the suitor would place a ring on his bride's finger and the couple would seal the agreement with a kiss.
