Making up the seating chart is usually one
of the most difficult parts in
planning
a wedding. The wedding guest list is constantly changing, which causes the
seating chart to be revised again and again. Also, you have to make sure the
guests at each table are compatible. They may not know each other, but they
should have personalities that can get along with each other. This job requires
help from friends and family.
Table cards tell
each guest what table they will sit at. Place the table cards near the entrance
for easy access. Each table should have the table number clearly labeled so
that guests can easily find their seats. There are many creative ways to jazz
up a table number. You can frame the number or place it in a plant or
assortment of flowers. If you are feeling very creative, think of a different
way, other than numbers, to label the tables. You can put a different plant on
each table and assign guests to the "rose" or "geranium" table. Once you have
the table assignments made, you can either figure out which seat each guests
will have or leave that up to your guests. If you are assigning seats, use
place cards or frames as favors with
each guest's name. Place cards written in calligraphy or with the newlyweds
initials give an extra fancy touch.
